Planning Applications

Hornby with Farleton Parish Council is invited by Lancaster City Council Planning Department to consult on some planning applications which may directly, or indirectly, affect the parish and/or the parishioners. The planning applications that the Parish Council receive from the Planning Department will be added to the agenda for the monthly Parish Council Meeting. The agenda will be displayed here and on noticeboards within the parish three days prior to the meeting.

Each application will be discussed individually. The Parish Council will take into consideration and comment on issues such as:

  • Overlooking/loss of privacy
  • Loss of light or overshadowing
  • Parking
  • Highway safety
  • Traffic
  • Noise
  • Effect on listed building and conservation area
  • Layout and density of building
  • Design, appearance and materials
  • Government policy
  • Disabled persons’ access
  • Proposals in the Development Plan
  • Previous planning decisions (including appeal decisions)
  • Nature conservation

Please note, Hornby with Farleton Parish Council has no authority over the final decision. The Parish Council can only comment to support, remain neutral or object to the application.
